Several different types of offshore oil rig exist, some of them being fixed, and the others being floating structures. Their construction started in 1970-1980 and it is still an issue to propose new anchorage and foundation solutions for large depth. First rigs being 50 years old, University Gustave Eiffel is also carrying out some studied related to their diagnosis, monitoring, and repair or reinforcement in order to increase their life expectancy and some studies related to their end of life.
